Thoughts on Gamehole Con
- It might be my favorite gaming convention. Perfect size, great games, fantastic people. Lots of friends. I loved it.
- Played AD&D, 2014 D&D, Tales of the Valiant, Numenera, and Pirate Borg
- Fantastic system to find and sign up for games. I could cancel events and add new ones as I went. I never had to worry about finding a slot. As a special guest I had privileges though but not at the time of the event itself.
- Met tons of people! If you met me, please email me at mike at slyflourish dot com so I remember! Help me out with some context too.
- Ran three games – two City of Arches Golgoron Rises adventures which were awesome. A Shadowdark gauntlet from Cursed Scroll 3. Wish I brought the right character sheets.
- Sat on two panels: YouTube and RPGs, and the OGL. Fun insights.
- Met a ton of folks in the industry including Monty and Kelly from Dungeon Dudes, Luke Hart from DM Lair, Anna B. Myers the cartographer of Midgard and a huge Greyhawk fan, lots of others.
- I suck at names
- Some tips:
- Drink a ton of water
- Bring chapstick
- Bring cough drops
- Eat salads
- I wish I'd given myself a day between without running games.
- Order food for pickup. There are nearby restaurants that let you pick up food.
